Do I need WhatsApp Business?

No, the link works with any WhatsApp number. For businesses we recommend WhatsApp Business for away messages, a profile and labels.

Why does the zero have to go?

WhatsApp expects the international format: country code and number without the first zero, e.g. 44 7700 900123 instead of 07700 900123.

Does the link work on desktop?

Yes. On a computer WhatsApp Web or the desktop app opens, on a phone the app opens directly.

What about privacy?

Mention WhatsApp (Meta) as a contact channel in your privacy policy. A plain link loads no data until someone clicks it.

Is my number stored?

No. Link and QR code are created entirely in your browser.
