Google Ads agencies usually charge in one of three ways: a fixed monthly fee, a percentage of your ad spend, or a mix that includes a performance-based share. Percentages of roughly 10 to 20 percent of ad spend are common in the market, often with a minimum fee. The fair model is the one where the agency benefits from you getting more enquiries, not from you spending more.
Fixed fee. A set amount per month for a defined scope of work. Advantage: predictable, and the agency has no incentive to inflate your budget. Disadvantage: if the account grows significantly, the scope has to be renegotiated.
Percentage of ad spend. The fee rises with your budget. Advantage: it reflects the extra work that large accounts require. Disadvantage: the agency earns more when you spend more, even if the extra spend delivers nothing. Make sure there is a clear cap.
Performance-based. Part of the fee depends on enquiries or revenue. It sounds ideal, but it requires reliable tracking and a clear definition of “success”. Otherwise you end up arguing about the numbers.
You pay the ad spend itself directly to Google. Do not agree to the agency running your budget through its own invoices without you seeing the Google invoices.
Do not compare the fee, compare the total cost per enquiry. An agency that costs 300 euros more per month but eliminates 800 euros of wasted spend is the cheaper one. So before signing, ask for a short analysis of your existing account.

It depends on how large the fee is relative to the budget. If management eats up a large share of your total spend, too little is left for clicks and the agency cannot achieve much. In that case, a one-off setup with occasional check-ins can make more sense than ongoing management.
With Search campaigns you usually pay per click, and the price is set in an auction against other advertisers. Google does not require a minimum budget; you set your daily budget yourself. How expensive a click is depends heavily on your industry, region and competition.
Not necessarily. Google Partner status is free for agencies and tied to requirements such as ad spend, account performance and staff certifications. It shows that the agency has proven experience with Google Ads, but it says nothing about its pricing model.
